Snowflake Ornaments

Descriptions

Each ornament is 3.5" on 18 mesh canvas. All three are made with pearl cotton and Kreinik braid, with added sequins mostly vintage,  and each Ornament has a front and a back.

You will need two 8" x 8"  pieces of 18 mesh canvas for each, tapestry and beading needles and beading thread.

Each set of instructions includes graph for front, a layout and alphabet for the back and simple finishing instructions taking about 20 minutes for each Ornament.

The instructions for the First Ornament are 18 pages long, plus a title page and a color copy of the fronts of all three, the Second Ornament, 19 pages long, plus a title page and a color copy of the fronts of all three, the Third Ornament, 19  pages long, plus a title  page and a color copy of the fronts of all three.

About the sequins

Most of the sequins on the ornaments are vintage, left over from Berger Beads, one of Los Angeles's great garment district shops trading in beads for Hollywood's Costumes. As you can see, they came in a variety of sizes and shapes.

Notice the sequins are all white and silver, thereby allowing you to use varieties of different pearl cotton colors for each ornament. Of course Red and Green come to mind because of Snowflakes at Christmastime.

Proud of One Design Element

I am proud of one of the design elements: I made a six-sided Snowflake work in an eight-sided shape, and it looks natural.

Please note that all Snowflakes are indeed six sided, even though we needleworkers often make them eight-sided.
